| Notes | Braiding rather than laying up sheet: the fibre architecture ends up denser and more compact, which is where both the stiffness and the strength gain come from. Each wheel uses about 18 km of carbon fibre, or eight square metres of fabric. Braiding also wastes less material than cutting fabric to shape. |
