Manufacturing
| Manufacturer | MAHLE GmbH |
|---|---|
| Origin | 🇩🇪 Germany Vendor head office — place of manufacture not stated |
| Process | Forged |
| Additively manufactured | No |
| Material | Proprietary high-strength aluminum alloy, Nickel Silicon Carbide plating |
| Notes | 2618 is the high-silicon-free forging alloy: tougher and more thermally tolerant than 4032, but it expands more, so it needs looser cold clearances and is noisier at start-up. That trade is the reason to specify it deliberately. |
